Gamma Seals

This seal is designed to provide an uncomplicated and efficient rotary shaft seal, to prevent the ingress of dirt and liquid. It is used to protect bearings and conventional radial seals in dirty and demanding applications.

Mechanical Seals

The mechanical seal has been designed as a reliable mass produced seal, suitable for hydraulic pumps and motors, air and refrigeration compressors and some chemicals depending on the elastomers and seat (face materials).
Mechanical seals are devices for preventing fluid leaking along a rotating shaft.

Operating Limits:
Temperature: -200°C to +1000°C. Pressure can range from vacuum 105 tor) up to 3000lb/in ² (200 bars), but 1200lb/in ² (80 bars) is a more realistic maximum for standard high pressure seals.
Speed: Speeds of 50,000 rpm are attainable depending on the size of the shaft. Sliding speeds can exceed 300ft/sec (100m/sec).
Fluid compatibility: All seal parts in contact with the sealed medium need to be compatible. Components such as the drive spring are often coated with PTFE, and in some cases PTFE coated rubber o-rings are also used.
